Work Order Description

Nominal Value

T001

Check: Short to Voltage/Ground/Interruption of Signal Circuit

  • Ignition OFF
  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    B69 Air Mass Meter
  • Ignition ON
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    B69 Air Mass Meter
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 1
    &
    Ground

4.8 ... 5.2 V

Check: Component

  • Measure resistance between the following terminals:
    B69 Air Mass Meter
    Wiring harness connector (component side) terminal 1
    &
    B69 Air Mass Meter
    Wiring harness connector (component side) terminal 3

Note:

Nominal value at -20 °C (-4 °F) is between 12.66 kOhm and 15.12 kOhm

Nominal value at -10 °C (14 °F) is between 7.94 kOhm and 9.31 kOhm

Nominal value at 0 °C (32 °F) is between 5.11 kOhm and 5.90 kOhm

Nominal value at 10 °C (50 °F) is between 3.38 kOhm and 3.83 kOhm

Nominal value at 20 °C (68 °F) is between 2.29 kOhm and 2.55 kOhm

Nominal value at 25 °C (77 °F) is between 1.90 kOhm and 2.10 kOhm

Nominal value at 30 °C (86 °F) is between 1.57 kOhm and 1.75 kOhm

Nominal value at 40 °C (104 °F) is between 1.09 kOhm and 1.24 kOhm

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

E003 Result: Short to Voltage
  • Short circuit to voltage between:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 55 (XC1)
    &
    B69 Air Mass Meter
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 1

or

  • Defective component:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

E004 Result: Short to Ground/Interruption
  • Short circuit to ground/interruption of circuit between:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 55 (XC1)
    &
    B69 Air Mass Meter
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 1

or

  • Defective component:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine

Important:
