T001

Check: Short to Ground/Interruption of Voltage Supply Circuit
  • Ignition OFF
  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    (Wiring Harness Connector XC8 )

Is the following component switched on?

Y160 Pump - Coolant, Additional
Yes: No:
T002

Check: Short to Voltage/Ground of Voltage Supply Circuit
  • Remove following component:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
  • Ignition ON
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 53 (XE1)
    &
    Ground

less than 0.3 V
Voltage Measurement Current Value: V
Yes: No:
T003

Check: Short to Voltage/Ground of Voltage Supply Circuit
  • Install following component:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
  • Remove following component:
    FE12 Fuse
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 12 (XC8)
    &
    Ground

less than 0.3 V
Voltage Measurement Current Value: V
Yes: No:

Check: Interruption of Voltage Supply Circuit
  • Ignition OFF
  • Remove following component:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
  • Measure resistance between the following terminals:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 12 (XC8)
    &
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 30 (XE3)

less than 5 Ohm
Resistance Measurement Current Value: Ohm
Yes: No:

Check: Interruption of Voltage Supply Circuit
  • Measure resistance between the following terminals:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 53 (XE1)
    &
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 55 (XE1)

less than 5 Ohm
Resistance Measurement Current Value: Ohm

Check: Short to Ground/Interruption of Voltage Supply Circuit
  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    Y160 Pump - Coolant, Additional
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    Y160 Pump - Coolant, Additional
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 2
    &
    Ground

greater than 11 V

Check: Interruption of Voltage Supply Circuit
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:

Cause Of Fault
E001 Result: Defective Component
  • Defective component:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.
E002 Result: Interruption
  • Circuit interruption between:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 55 (XE1)
    &
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 53 (XE1)

or

  • Defective component:
    K30E Relay - Coolant Pump, Additional
E003 Result: Interruption
  • Circuit interruption between:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 12 (XC8)
    &
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 30 (XE3)
E004 Result: Short to Voltage
  • Short circuit to voltage between:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 30 (XE3)
    &
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 12 (XC7)

or

Defective component:
  • X125 Underhood Electronic Module

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

  • Defective component:

  • Circuit interruption between:

    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 1
