Work Order Description

T001

Check: Interruption of Voltage Supply Circuit
  • Ignition OFF
  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    L2D Injection Valve - Cylinder 4
    &
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    (Wiring Harness Connector XC9 )
  • Ignition ON
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    L2D Injection Valve - Cylinder 4
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 2
    &
    Ground
(Z 16 XEP)

less than 0.3 V

(Z 16 XE1)

less than 0.3 V
Voltage Measurement Current Value: V
Yes: No:

Check: Short to Ground of Signal Circuit
  • Ignition OFF
  • Measure resistance between the following terminals:
    L2D Injection Valve - Cylinder 4
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal (Z 16 XEP) 2 (Z 16 XE1) B
    &
    Ground
(Z 16 XEP)

greater than 500 kOhm

(Z 16 XE1)

greater than 500 kOhm

Check: Interruption of Signal Circuit
  • Measure resistance between the following terminals:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 59 (XC9)
    &
    L2D Injection Valve - Cylinder 4
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal (Z 16 XEP) 2 (Z 16 XE1) B
(Z 16 XEP)

less than 5 Ohm

Check: Interruption of Voltage Supply Circuit
  • Remove electrical component from socket:
    K10_X125 Relay - Fuel Pump
  • Connect fused jumper wire to:
    K10_X125 Relay - Fuel Pump
    Socket Terminal 30
    &
    K10_X125 Relay - Fuel Pump
    Socket Terminal 87
  • Ignition ON
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    L2D Injection Valve - Cylinder 4
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal (Z 16 XEP) 1 (Z 16 XE1) A
    &
    Ground
(Z 16 XEP)

greater than 11 V

(Z 16 XE1)

  • Defective component:
    K10_X125 Relay - Fuel Pump
    or
    A84 Control Unit - Engine

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.
E002 Result: Defective Component
  • Defective component:
    L2D Injection Valve - Cylinder 4
E003 Result: Interruption
  • Circuit interruption between:
    K10_X125 Relay - Fuel Pump
    Socket Terminal 87
    &
    L2D Injection Valve - Cylinder 4
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal (Z 16 XEP) 1 (Z 16 XE1) A

or

  • Defective component:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.
E004 Result: Interruption
  • Circuit interruption between:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 59 (XC9)
    &
    L2D Injection Valve - Cylinder 4
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal (Z 16 XEP) 2 (Z 16 XE1) B
E005 Result: Short to Ground
  • Short circuit to ground between:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 59 (XC9)
    &
    L2D Injection Valve - Cylinder 4
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal (Z 16 XEP) 2 (Z 16 XE1) B
E006 Result: Short to Voltage
  • Short circuit to voltage between:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 59 (XC9)
    &
    L2D Injection Valve - Cylinder 4
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 2

or

  • Defective component:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine

Important:
