Work Order Description

Nominal Value
T001

Check: Interruption of Voltage Supply Circuit
  • Ignition OFF
  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    Y38 Solenoid Valve - Intake Air Throttle
  • Ignition ON
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    Y38 Solenoid Valve - Intake Air Throttle
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 2
    &
    Ground

greater than 11 V
Voltage Measurement Current Value: V
Yes: No:
T002

Check: Short to Voltage/Interruption of Signal Circuit
  • Ignition OFF
  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    (Wiring Harness Connector XC19 )
  • Ignition ON
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    Y38 Solenoid Valve - Intake Air Throttle
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 1
    &
    Ground

less than 0.3 V
Voltage Measurement Current Value: V
Yes: No:
T003

Check: Short to Ground of Signal Circuit
  • Ignition OFF
  • Measure resistance between:
    Y38 Solenoid Valve - Intake Air Throttle
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 1
    &
    Ground

greater than 500 kOhm
Resistance Measurement Current Value: kOhm
Yes: No:
T004

Check: Interruption of Signal Circuit
  • Measure resistance between:
    Y38 Solenoid Valve - Intake Air Throttle
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 1
    &
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 60 (XC19)

less than 5 Ohm
Resistance Measurement Current Value: Ohm
Yes: No:
T005

Check: Component
  • Connect wiring harness connector to:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    (Wiring Harness Connector XC19 )
  • Connect test light to:
    Y38 Solenoid Valve - Intake Air Throttle
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 2
    &
    Y38 Solenoid Valve - Intake Air Throttle
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 1
  • Ignition ON
  • Select and enable diagnostic tester actuator test:
    Throttle Solenoid Valve Test
  • Press soft key ACTIVE

Test light ON?
Yes: No:
T006

Check: Component
  • Press soft key INACTIVE

Test light OFF?
Yes: No:
T007

Check: Interruption of Voltage Supply Circuit
  • Ignition OFF
  • Remove electrical component from socket:
    FE26 Fuse
  • Ignition ON
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    FE26 Fuse
    Input contact
    &
    Ground

greater than 11 V
Voltage Measurement Current Value: V

Cause Of Fault
E001 Result: Defective Component
  • Defective component:
    Y38 Solenoid Valve - Intake Air Throttle
E002 Result: Defective Component
  • Defective component:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.
E003 Result: Interruption
  • Circuit interruption between:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 60 (XC19)
    &
    Y38 Solenoid Valve - Intake Air Throttle
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 1
E004 Result: Short to Ground
  • Short circuit to ground between:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 60 (XC19)
    &
    Y38 Solenoid Valve - Intake Air Throttle
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 1
E005 Result: Short to Voltage
  • Short circuit to voltage between:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 60 (XC19)
    &
    Y38 Solenoid Valve - Intake Air Throttle
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 1
E006 Result: Interruption
  • Circuit interruption between:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 29 (XE3)
    &
    Y38 Solenoid Valve - Intake Air Throttle
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 2

or

  • Defective component:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module

Important:
