Check: Interruption of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Ignition OFF
  • Remove electrical component from socket:
    K2_X125 Relay - Engine Control Unit
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    K2_X125 Relay - Engine Control Unit
    Socket Terminal 30, 86
    &
    Ground

greater than 11 V

Voltage Measurement Current Value: V
Yes: No:

Check: Short to Voltage of Signal Circuit

  • Ignition ON
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    K2_X125 Relay - Engine Control Unit
    Socket Terminal 85
    &
    Ground

less than 0.3 V

Yes: No:
T003

Check: Short to Ground of Signal Circuit

  • Ignition OFF
  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
  • Insert electrical component in socket:
    K2_X125 Relay - Engine Control Unit
  • Ignition ON
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 62 (XC4)
    &
    Ground

greater than 11 V

Check: Short to Voltage of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 31 (XC4)
    &
    Ground

Check: Component

  • Ignition OFF
  • Connect fused jumper wire to:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 62 (XC4)
    &

  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 31, 47 (XC4)
    &
    Ground

  • Remove electrical component from socket:
    FE21 Fuse
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:

  • Ignition OFF
  • Remove electrical component from socket:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
  • Ignition ON
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 31 (XC4)
    &
    Ground

less than 0.3 V

Check: Short to Ground/Interruption of Signal Circuit

  • Ignition OFF
  • Remove electrical component from socket:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
  • Connect fused jumper wire to:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 16 (XE3)
    &
    Battery voltage
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 62 (XC4)
    &
    Ground

Check: Short to Voltage of Signal Circuit

  • Ignition OFF

    K2_X125 Relay - Engine Control Unit
    Socket Terminal 85
    &
    Ground

less than 0.3 V

Cause Of Fault

E001 Result: Defective Component
  • Defective component:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

E002 Result: Interruption
  • Circuit interruption between:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 28 (XE3)
    &
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 31, 47 (XC4)

or

  • Defective component:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

E003 Result: Defective Component
  • Defective component:
    K2_X125 Relay - Engine Control Unit
    or
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

Note:

The replacement of the components must be done in the listed order.

The system must be checked for proper operation after every replacement.

E004 Result: Short to Voltage
  • Short circuit to voltage between:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 28 (XE3)
    &
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 31, 47 (XC4)
E005 Result: Defective Component
  • Defective component:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

E006 Result: Short to Ground/Interruption
  • Short circuit to ground/interruption of circuit between:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 62 (XC4)
    &
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 16 (XE3)
E007 Result: Short to Voltage
  • Short circuit to voltage between:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 62 (XC4)
    &
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 16 (XE3)

or

  • Defective component:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module

Important:
