Seal of End Shield Cover, Replace (F13/F13+/F13
MTA/F17+/F17+ MTA)
 Remove
| 1. |
Detach lower engine cover
Note: If present.
|
| 2. |
Remove end shield cover
Note: Place collecting
pan underneath - transmission fluid will escape

Unscrew 9x bolt (arrows)
Note: If necessary,
release the end shield cover by striking it gently with a rubber
mallet.

Only for metal cover with separate seal: remove end shield
cover seal
|
|
|
|
| 3. |
Check all the components for damage
Note: Replace damaged
components.

| 4. |
Clean sealing surfaces
| • |
Remove sealant residues
|
|
Install
Important: Note close tolerance
bolts.
|
| 5. |
For metal cover with separate seal: attach end shield cover
| • |
Fit end shield cover to transmission housing with new
gasket
|
| • |
Tighten 4x bolt M7 (arrows) 15
Nm
|
| • |
Tighten 5x bolt M8 (arrows) 20
Nm
|
|
| 6. |
For plastic cover with integral seal: Attach new end shield
cover
| • |
Tighten 4x bolt M6 (arrows) 8 Nm
|
| • |
Tighten 5x bolt M8 (arrows) 20
Nm
|
|
|
|
| 7. |
Check transmission fluid level
|
| 8. |
Attach lower engine cover
Note: If present.
