Programming Transmission Parameters (M20 MTA)

Note:   After replacing or removing/installing the transmission and/or MTA system components, the transmission parameters must be programmed. Ensure that the battery is well charged. After repairing and using the MTA-system for the first time:


The electronic control unit may only be removed and reinstalled once. If the electronic control unit is removed again, it must be replaced.

1. Delete fault memory
2. Carry out test drive
3. Read out fault memory

  Install

1.   Connect TECH 2
2.   Set Transmission Parameters
•   Select corresponding vehicle identification
•   select "Transmission" in the "System selection menu"
•   Select "Easytronic (M20 MTA)" from the vehicle identifications
•   Select "Programming"
•   Select "Control unit programming"
Select the "Clutch replaced" menu - after installing a new clutch plate and pressure plate, central release, clutch pressure line
Select "Clutch removed" - after installing the old clutch or installing a new flywheel
Select "Transmission replaced (with MTA and ECU)" - after installing a new transmission with MTA system and control unit.
Select "Transmission replaced (without MTA and ECU)" - after installing a new transmission with re-installation of the MTA system and control unit.
Select the "Transmission removed (with MTA and ECU)" menu - after installing the old transmission
Select "Recalibrate control unit" menu for new programming of the control unit
Select "Control unit replaced" menu when installing a new control unit
Select "MTA with control unit replaced" menu when installing the old transmission with new MTA system and new control unit
Select "MTA with control unit removed" menu when removing and installing the MTA system
Select "Gearshift module with control module replaced" menu when installing a new gearshift module with a new control unit
Select "Gearshift module with control module removed" menu when removing and installing the gearshift module with control unit
Select "Clutch module replaced" menu when installing a new clutch module
Select "Clutch position sensor replaced" menu when installing a new clutch actuation sensor
Select "Shift and/or selector position sensor replaced" menu when installing a new shift and/or selector position sensor
Select "Supply unit replaced" menu when installing a new supply unit
Select "Electric motor replaced" menu when overhauling the supply unit and installing a new electric motor
•   Follow the remaining menu guide in TECH 2

  Remove

3.   Detach TECH 2
4.   Comply with the start-up routines required LUREF_1.gif
