Air Cleaner Element Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the hood.
2. Unclip the mass airflow wiring harness from the air cleaner assembly.

3. Loosen the clamp (4).
4. Remove the mass airflow sensor (5) out of the air cleaner assembly and hang aside.

Note:  The 6 bolts (2) can not be removed of the air cleaner assembly cover (3).
5. Loosen the 6 bolt (2) and leave them in the air cleaner assembly cover (3).
6. Remove the air cleaner assembly cover (3).
7. Remove the air cleaner element (1).

Installation Procedure

1. Install a NEW air filter element (1).
2. Install the air cleaner assembly cover (3).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution .
3. Fasten the 6 bolt (2).
4. Install the mass airflow sensor (5) to the air cleaner assembly.
5. Fasten the clamp (4) to 3.5 N·m (31 lb in) .
6. Install the mass airflow wiring harness to the air cleaner assembly.
7. Close the hood.
