Oil Level Indicator Tube Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the hood.
2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
3. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .

4. Unclip the wiring harness from the oil level indicator tube (1).
5. Remove the oil level indicator.
6. Remove the oil level indicator tube bolt (2).
7. Remove the oil level indicator tube (1).
8. Remove the oil level indicator gasket from the cylinder block.

Installation Procedure

1. Install a NEW oil level indicator gasket to the cylinder block.
2. Install the oil level indicator tube (1)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution .
3. Install the oil level indicator tube bolt (2) and tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb in) .
4. Install the oil level indicator.
5. Clip in the wiring harness to oil level indicator tube (1).
6. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
7. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
8. Close the hood.
