Oil Level Indicator Tube ReplacementRemoval Procedure

1. | Open the hood. |
2. | Remove the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement . |
3. | Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection . |
4. | Remove the oil level indicator tube bolt (1). |
5. | Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle . |
6. | Remove the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement . |
7. | Remove the 2 oil level indicator and tube bolts (3). |
8. | Remove the oil level indicator and tube (2) and the oil level indicator and tube seal ring (4). |
Installation Procedure
1. | Clean the oil level indicator and tube sealing groove. |
2. | Install the oil level indicator and tube (2), use a New seal ring (4). |
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution . |
3. | Install the 2 oil level indicator and tube bolts (3) and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in) . |
4. | Install the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement . |
5. | Lower the vehicle. |
6. | Install the oil level indicator tube bolt (1) and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in) . |
7. | Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection . |
8. | Fill in the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement . |
9. | Close the hood. |
