Crankshaft and Bearing Removal
1. |
Remove the 5 crankshaft rear
oil seal retainer bolts (2). |
2. |
Remove the crankshaft rear oil
seal retainer (1) along with the crankshaft rear oil seal
(3). |
3. |
Remove the crankshaft rear oil
seal (3) from the crankshaft rear oil seal retainer (1).

Note: Mark the
crankshaft bearing caps to ensure they will be installed in the
same position.

4. |
Loosen the 10 crankshaft
bearing caps in a sequence as shown. |
5. |
Remove the 10 crankshaft
bearing cap bolts (4). |
6. |
Remove the 5 crankshaft
bearing caps (5). |

Note: Mark the
crankshaft bearing sequence to ensure they will be installed in the
same position.

7. |
Remove the 5 crankshaft
bearings (3). |
8. |
Remove the crankshaft
(2). |
|
Note: Mark the
crankshaft bearing sequence to ensure they will be installed in the
same position.
|
9. |
Remove the 5 crankshaft
bearings (1). |
10. |
Remove the 3 crankshaft
position sensor reluctor ring bolts (1). |
11. |
Remove the crankshaft position
sensor reluctor ring (2) from the crankshaft (3). |

Note: Mark the
crankshaft thrust bearing sequence to ensure they will be installed
in the same position.

12. |
Remove the crankshaft thrust
bearings (1). |
