Oil Feed and Return Lines, Remove and Install  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Unbolt heat shield from exhaust manifold (see illus.).   Unscrew oil feed line connector from turbocharger. Unbolt line from bracket on oil return hose flange.

Unscrew oil feed line connector from cylinder block and remove line.   Collect escaping engine oil!   Remove oil return hose. Unbolt connections from turbocharger.   Lever oil return connection out of cylinder block and lever off clamping sleeve from connection.

  Clean   

Clean oil return connection.     Install, Connect    Coat clamping sleeve with locking compound and attach to oil return connection.

Knock connection into cylinder block.     Important!    Do not damage connection on installation.

  Install, Connect   

Bolt oil return connection with new gasket to turbocharger.   Screw oil feed line connector into turbocharger and cylinder block and fasten to oil return connection bracket. Use new seal rings.   Push oil return hose onto oil return connection.

Bolt heat shield to exhaust manifold.     Tighten (Torque)    Heat shield to exhaust manifold - 10 Nm / 7 lbf. ft.     Inspect    Check engine oil level and correct if necessary.
