Leaks   the Fluid Cooling Lines from Transmission to Transmission Fluid Cooler

Vehicles:

All Corsa - B,  , Astra - F and   - B vehicles with     - mission AF 13 in conjunction with quick fittings   the fluid cooling lines from the   transmission to the transmission fluid cooler.

Condition:

Complaints have been repeatedly received from dealerships regarding leaks involving the quick fittings (1)   the fluid cooling lines from the   transmission to the transmission fluid cooler.

Cause:

The seal ring used   the quick fittings   all AF 13 transmissions loses its elasticity   high temperatures. This leads to impairment of the sealing function   the above - mentioned connections and hence to leaks - fluid escapes.

Remedy:

Replace seal rings at thr quick fittings as described below.

Raise vehicle.

Lever safety clip qick fitting using a screwdriver.

Important!

Fluid escapes.

If necessary, seal openings of threaded connectors (1) and one transmission fluid colling line (2) using KM - 924.

Using a small screwdriver, lever seal ring (1) off the open quick fitting.

Place new, silver - coloured seal ring, Part No. 90 522 518, Catalogue No. 7 53 383,   the tube of the quick fitting.

Using a thin screwdriver, carefully slide seal ring further onto tube of the quick fitting up to stop.

Insert retainer in transmission fluid cooling line, remove KM - 924. from threaded connector and install quick fitting   threaded connector.

Ensure correct seating of the quick fitting   the threaded connector

Replace seal ring of the other quick fitting in the same sequence as described above.

Lower vehicle.

Check the transmission fluid level as described in the relevant Service Instructions and correct  . Use Transmission Fluid   II D.... Part No. 90 350 342, Catalogue No. 19 40 700.
