J600500 Radiator, Replace (Y 17 DT, without AC,
RHD)
1. Open bonnet

Caution!
On vehicles from model year 04 with ESP - the steering angle
sensor loses its basic adjustment each time the battery is
disconnected. It must be recalibrated.
2. Disconnect battery
3. Release upper front panelling
4. Raise vehicle
5. Release lower front panelling
- Disconnect wiring harness plug
- Remove 3 clips (2)
- Remove 4 bolts (1)
- Remove 2 nuts (3)

6. Detach front panelling
- Note! 2. mechanic
- Remove and close the hose – high-pressure –
Headlamp washer system
7. Drain coolant
- Place collecting basin underneath.
- Open drain bolt

|
8. Remove intercooler
- Remove charge air hoses (1, 3)
- Remove bolt (4)
- Detach retaining clip (2)
|
|
9. Detach lower charge air pipe (1)
- From centre charge air pipe (2)
- Pull from guide
|
|
10. Lower vehicle
11. Detach lower coolant hose
|
|
12. Detach upper coolant hose (2)
|
|
13. Detach coolant compensation tank
hose (1)
14. Detach fan housing
- Remove 2 bolts (arrows)
- Note! Carefully pull fan housing upwards

15. Raise vehicle
16. Remove radiator
- Suspend radiator
- Remove lower radiator bracket
- Remove radiator downwards carefully
17. Detach attaching parts
18. Attach attaching parts
19. Install radiator
- Carefully insert radiator
- Install lower radiator bracket
20. Lower vehicle
21. Attach fan housing
22. Attach coolant compensation tank hose
23. Attach upper coolant hose
24. Attach lower coolant hose
25. Raise vehicle
26. Install lower charge air pipe
27. Install intercooler
28. Position front panelling
- Note! 2. mechanic
- Install high-pressure headlamp washer hose
29. Fasten lower front panelling
- Install clips
- Tighten bolts
- Tighten nuts
- Connect wiring harness plug.
30. Lower vehicle
31. Fasten upper front panelling
32. Connect battery
33. Calibrate steering angle sensor
Note: Rotate the
steering wheel one time from its right-hand to its left-hand
stop.
34. Top up coolant
- Note! Top up and bleed cooling system – see operation
"Top up and bleed cooling system"
- Observe specified coolant quantity
35. Program volatile memories
36. Close bonnet
