Replace lower coolant pipe > < Coolant Pipe, Replace (Z 17 DTH, without AC, LHD)

Coolant Connection, Replace (Z 17 DTH, without AC, LHD)

  Remove

1.   Remove exhaust manifold with turbocharger and pre-catalytic converter
2.   Lower vehicle
3.   Remove coolant pipe
•   Remove bolt (1)
•   Release clamp
•   Pull coolant hose from coolant pipe flange in direction of arrow

4.   Raise vehicle
5.   Remove ribbed V-belt cover
•   Unscrew 3 bolts (1)
•   Remove clip (arrow)

6.   Remove ribbed V-belt
Note:   Mark running direction.
•   Tension ribbed V-belt tensioner in direction of arrow
•   Use KM-913-A

7.   Lower vehicle
8.   Disconnect wiring harness plug of dynamic oil level check sensor
9.   Remove alternator
•   Disconnect alternator wiring harness
– Disconnect wiring harness plug (1)
– Unscrew nut
•   Detach vacuum pump oil feed line (4)
– Unscrew banjo bolt
•   Detach vacuum pump oil return line (5)
– Release clamp
•   Detach 2 brake servo vacuum lines
– Unscrew and remove union nut (3)
– Detach hose
•   Unscrew upper bolt
•   Undo bolted connection
Note:   Prise alternator out of bracket at bottom and remove bolt

10.   Detach alternator wiring harness bracket
•   Unscrew 2 bolts
11.   Remove alternator support
•   Unscrew 4 bolts
Object Number: 2404429 Size: DEFAULT


12.   Remove coolant connection
•   Unscrew 2 bolts
13.   Clean sealing surface

  Install

14.   Install coolant connection
•   Apply sealing compound
•   Tighten 2 bolts
15.   Install alternator support
•   4 bolts
– Tighten M10 48 Nm
– Tighten M12 67.6 Nm
16.   Attach alternator wiring harness bracket
•   Tighten 2 bolts
17.   Install alternator
•   Tighten M8 bolt 18.6 Nm
•   Tighten M10 bolt 46.1 Nm
•   Attach vacuum pump oil return line
– Fasten clamp
•   Attach vacuum pump oil feed line
– Replace 2x seal ring
– Tighten banjo bolt 21.6 Nm
•   Connect alternator wiring harness
– Connect wiring harness plug
– Tighten nuts
18.   Connect dynamic oil level check sensor wiring harness plug
19.   Raise vehicle
20.   Install ribbed V-belt
Note:   Observe running direction and installation position
•   Release ribbed V-belt tensioner
•   Use KM-913-A
21.   Install ribbed V-belt cover
•   Tighten 3 bolts
•   Fasten clip
22.   Lower vehicle
23.   Install coolant pipe
•   Replace seal ring
•   Attach coolant hose
– Fasten clamp
•   Tighten bolt 95.1 Nm
24.   Raise vehicle
25.   Install exhaust manifold with turbocharger and pre-catalytic converter
26.   Top up coolant
27.   Top up engine oil
•   Observe specified engine oil quantity
•   Start engine and allow to run until oil pressure telltale extinguishes.
•   Check engine oil level, if necessary correct.

Replace lower coolant pipe > < Coolant Pipe, Replace (Z 17 DTH, without AC, LHD)
