Coolant Connection, Replace (Z 17 DTH, without AC,
LHD)
Remove
1. |
Remove exhaust manifold with turbocharger and pre-catalytic
converter
|

Remove coolant pipe
• |
Pull coolant hose from coolant pipe flange in direction of
arrow
|
|
|
|
5. |
Remove ribbed V-belt cover
|
|
|
6. |
Remove ribbed V-belt
Note: Mark running
direction.
• |
Tension ribbed V-belt tensioner in direction of arrow
|
|
|
|
8. |
Disconnect wiring harness plug of dynamic oil level check
sensor
|
9. |
Remove alternator
• |
Disconnect alternator wiring harness
– |
Disconnect wiring harness plug (1)
|
|
• |
Detach vacuum pump oil feed line (4)
|
• |
Detach vacuum pump oil return line (5)
|
• |
Detach 2 brake servo vacuum lines
– |
Unscrew and remove union nut (3)
|
|
• |
Undo bolted connection
Note: Prise alternator
out of bracket at bottom and remove bolt
|
|
|
|

Detach alternator wiring harness bracket
|
11. |
Remove alternator support
|
|
|
12. |
Remove coolant connection
|
13. |
Clean sealing surface
|
Install
14. |
Install coolant connection
|
15. |
Install alternator support
|
16. |
Attach alternator wiring harness bracket
|
17. |
Install alternator
• |
Tighten M8 bolt 18.6 Nm
|
• |
Tighten M10 bolt 46.1 Nm
|
• |
Attach vacuum pump oil return line
|
• |
Attach vacuum pump oil feed line
– |
Tighten banjo bolt 21.6 Nm
|
|
• |
Connect alternator wiring harness
– |
Connect wiring harness plug
|
|
|

Connect dynamic oil level check sensor wiring harness plug
|
20. |
Install ribbed V-belt
Note: Observe running
direction and installation position
• |
Release ribbed V-belt tensioner
|
|
21. |
Install ribbed V-belt cover
|
25. |
Install exhaust manifold with turbocharger and pre-catalytic
converter
|
27. |
Top up engine oil
• |
Observe specified engine oil quantity
|
• |
Start engine and allow to run until oil pressure telltale
extinguishes.
|
• |
Check engine oil level, if necessary correct.
|
