Turbo-Charging > < Coolant Pump, Replace

Cooling Pump, Remove And Install (Z 17 DTH, With Air Conditioning, LHD)

  Remove

1.   Open bonnet
Important:   On vehicles with ESP - the steering angle sensor loses its basic adjustment each time the battery is disconnected. It must be recalibrated
2.   Disconnect battery
•   Detach ground cable
3.   Raise vehicle
4.   Drain coolant
•   Place collecting basin underneath.
•   Open coolant drain bolt
5.   Remove ribbed V-belt cover
•   Unscrew 3 bolts (1)
•   Remove clip (arrow)

6.   Loosen coolant pump ribbed V-belt pulley (1)
•   Undo 3 bolts
Object Number: 2406521  Size: DEFAULT


7.   Remove ribbed V-belt
Note:   Mark running direction.
•   Tension ribbed V-belt tensioner in direction of arrow
Use KM-913-A
Object Number: 2411073  Size: DEFAULT


8.   Detach coolant pump ribbed V-belt pulley
•   Unscrew 3 bolts
9.   Remove coolant pump (1)
•   Unclip vacuum hose
•   Unscrew 5 bolts
Object Number: 2411116  Size: DEFAULT


10.   Clean sealing surfaces

  Install

11.   Install coolant pump
•   Replace gasket
•   Tighten 5 bolts 24 Nm
•   Clip in vacuum hose
12.   Attach coolant pump ribbed V-belt pulley
•   Screw in 3 bolts
13.   Install ribbed V-belt
Note:   Observe running direction and installation position
•   Release tension from ribbed V-belt tensioner
Use KM-913-A
14.   Tighten coolant pump ribbed V-belt pulley
•   Tighten 3 bolts 16.3 Nm
15.   Attach ribbed V-belt cover
•   Tighten 3 bolts
•   Fasten clip
16.   Close coolant drain bolt
17.   Lower vehicle
18.   Connect battery
•   Ground cable
19.   Cooling System, Charge and Bleed
20.   Close bonnet
21.   Program volatile memory
