Oxygen sensor behind Catalic Converter, Motronic
7.6.1 and Z18XE MY2004
Objective:
Checking operation of the Oxygen sensor.
Measurement:
Plot of signal voltage of Oxygen sensor behind the Catalytic
Converter.
Preparation:
Engine oil temperature greater than 80°C . Switch off the engine and
ignition.
Connections:
INPUT A
|
COM/TRIGGER
|
INPUT B
|
Connect the red measurement lead with the blue filter adapter to

Procedure Tech 31:
1. |
Download Reference curve. |
2. |
Start the engine and allow it to idle. |
Reference Curve:
There will be no or
very little change in the voltage signal of the Oxygen Sensor, due
to the fact that this Oxygen Sensor is located behind the Catalytic
Converter. If it does change, it can indicate that the Catalytic
Converter is not functioning correctly. See the checking procedure
for further information.
