Oxygen sensor, Motronic 7.6.1 and Z18XE MY2004
Objective:
Checking operation of the Oxygen sensor.
Measurement:
Plot of signal voltage of Oxygen sensor.
Preparation:
Engine oil temperature greater than 80°C . Switch off the engine and
ignition.

Connect the red measurement lead and ground lead to the plug
connector for the camshaft sensor according to the table below.

Download Reference curve. |

Start the engine and allow it to idle. |

If either little or no voltage variation can be
detected, the engine speed must be slightly increased. |

Reference Curve:
Ageing of the Oxygen
sensor can affect signal frequency for particular measurements. The
frequency is thus reduced as the sensor becomes older.

Download Setup file (the Tech 32 uses only Setup
files, no reference curves). |
| 2. |
Start engine and allow it to idle. |
| 3. |
If either little or no voltage variation can be
detected, the engine speed must be slightly increased. |
