Front Reaction Member, Remove and Install > < J472100 Engine Damping Block, Replace (Right) (Y 17 DTL, without AC, LHD)

J472000 Engine Damping Blocks, Replace (Left and Right) (Y 17 DTL, without AC, LHD)

Note:   KM-6394 must be used from model year 04 instead of KM-6169-1 .

1. Open bonnet

 Object Number: 2411064 Size: DEFAULT

2. Remove air cleaner housing (1)

  • Remove wiring harness plug for hot film mass air flow meter (3)
    • Release in direction of arrow
  • Remove air intake hose (4)
    • Loosen clamp (5)
  • Remove bolt (2)
 Object Number: 2410600 Size: DEFAULT

3. Remove coolant compensation tank.

  • Detach retaining clip
  • Unclip coolant hoses
  • Set coolant compensation tank to one side

4. Raise vehicle

5. Detach ribbed V-belt cover

  • Remove 3 bolts (1)
  • Remove clip (arrow).

6. Attach KM-6169 (1)

  • Place left of KM-6169 onto front axle body (arrows, illus. I)
    • Note! Guide pin must be seated in bore in front axle body
  • Attach both right holders on the front axle body (arrows, Illus. II).
    • Note! Guide pin must be seated in bore in front axle body (arrow, Illus. III)
  • Tighten bolts

7. Install support

  • To KM-6169
    • Adjust bracket (2) for support
  • Screw on nut (1)
 Object Number: 2411093 Size: DEFAULT

8. Adjust support

  • Transmission side
    • Note! Turn spindles until the mounts (3) are positioned at the guide journals free of play
  • Engine timing side
    • Insert journal of the support in the bore of the cylinder block without play (arrow)
    • Tighten nuts (1)

9. Lower vehicle

 Object Number: 2411070 Size: DEFAULT

10. Remove right engine damping block

  • Remove 4 bolts

11. Install right engine damping block

  • To side member
    • Tighten bolts (40 Nm / 29.5 lbf. ft.)
  • On engine bracket
    • Tighten bolts (60 Nm/44 lbf. ft + 30° + 15°.)

12. Remove left engine damping block

  • Remove 2 bolts

13. Remove transmission holder

  • Remove 3 bolts

14. Raise vehicle

 Object Number: 2411110 Size: DEFAULT

15. Remove left engine damping block

  • Remove 4 bolts
  • Unclip clutch pressure line (1)
  • Remove left engine damping block

16. Remove transmission holder

 Object Number: 2411111 Size: DEFAULT

17. Remove left engine damping block adapter

  • Remove bolt (1)

18. Install left engine damping block adapter

  • Tighten bolt (80 Nm / 59 lbf. ft. + 45° + 15°)

19. Insert transmission holder

20. Install left engine damping block

  • Tighten 4 bolts (25 Nm / 18 lbf. ft.)
    • To side member
    • Clip in clutch pressure line

21. Lower vehicle

22. Install transmission holder

  • Tighten bolts (60 Nm / 44.5 lbf. ft.)

23. Install left engine damping block

  • Tighten 2 bolts (55 Nm / 40.6 lbf. ft.)

24. Attach coolant compensation tank

  • Attach retaining clip
  • Clip in coolant hoses

25. Install air cleaner housing

  • Tighten bolt
  • Fasten air intake hose.
    • Fasten clamp
  • Connect wiring harness plug to hot film mass air flow meter

26. Raise vehicle

27. Detach support

28. Remove KM-6169

29. Detach ribbed V-belt cover

  • Tighten bolts
  • Install clip

30. Lower vehicle

31. Close bonnet
