DOHC diesel engine (Z 17 DTH) - engine number/engine code

The engine code (2) and engine number (1) are embossed on the flat surface on the transmission side of the cylinder block.

Important:   When installing an engine short block, the engine number must be stamped on the cylinder block before the engine is installed.
