Engine Leaks, Check (CO-Content In Cooling System)

Unscrew cover of coolant compensation tank

Release pressure carefully

Inspect

Check engine for leaks
Note: Actuating the
rubber bellows siphons air from the coolant compensation tank.
Ensure that no coolant is drawn in. If the blue fluid in the upper
chamber of the tester turns yellow, the cylinder head gasket or the
cylinder head is leaking.
Operation: In the clear cylinder of the tester there is a blue
reactive fluid that turns yellow when air is suctioned containing
the smallest amount of carbon monoxide. When fresh air is
suctioned, the test fluid is regenerated, i.e. turns back to
blue.
The fluid can be checked by exposing it to exhaust emissions from
the exhaust pipe. The test fluid should then turn yellow.
