Starter, Remove And Install (Z 17 DTH, With Air Conditioning, LHD)

  Remove

1.   Open bonnet
2.   Disconnect battery
•   Detach ground cable
3.   Detach starter
•   Remove bolt (1)

4.   Raise vehicle
5.   Remove starter
•   Remove cable ties (5)
•   Electrically disconnect starter
– Unscrew 2 nuts (2 and 3)
– Remove bolt (1)
•   Disconnect wiring harness plug of fuel pressure sensor
•   Remove bolt (4)

  Install

6.   Install starter
•   Tighten bolt 38.2 Nm
•   Electrically connect starter
– Tighten 2 nuts
– Tighten bolt
•   Fasten cable tie
7.   Lower vehicle
8.   Fasten starter
•   Tighten bolt 60 Nm
9.   Connect battery
10.   Close bonnet
11.   Program volatile memory
