Oil Cooler Heat Exchanger, Replace > < Check engine oil pressure

Oil Filter Housing, Remove and Install

  Remove

1.   Open bonnet
Important:   On vehicles with ESP - the steering angle sensor loses its basic adjustment each time the battery is disconnected. It must be recalibrated.
2.   Disconnect battery
3.   Drain coolant
•   Place collecting basin underneath.
•   Open drain bolt

4.   Detach turbocharger charge air hose (3)
•   Release clamp
•   Open quick-release fitting
5.   Detach heat exchanger coolant pipe (1)
•   Unscrew 3 bolts
•   Remove gasket.
Note:   Pay attention to exhaust manifold heat shield (2).
6.   Remove oil feed line (4)
•   Place collecting basin underneath.
•   Unscrew 2 banjo bolts

7.   Remove oil filter housing/heat exchanger (1)
•   Detach lower coolant hose
Release clamp
•   Unscrew 4 bolts

8.   Cleaning work
•   Oil filter housing, engine block

  Install

9.   Install oil filter housing
•   Replace gasket
•   Tighten 4 bolts 9 Nm
•   Connect lower radiator hose
Fasten clamp
10.   Install turbocharger oil feed line
•   Replace 4x seal ring
•   Tighten 2 banjo bolts 15 Nm
11.   Attach heat exchanger coolant pipe
•   Replace gasket
•   Tighten 3 bolts 9 Nm
12.   Attach turbocharger charge air hose
•   Fasten clamp 3.5 Nm
•   Close quick-release fitting
13.   Connect battery
14.   Top up coolant
15.   Check engine oil level, if necessary correct.
•   Use prescribed quantity of oil
16.   Program volatile memory
17.   Close bonnet
