Throttle Valve Potentiometer (Double Signal), Motronic (as of MY2001) > < Ignition, Primary, Z14XE, Z16XE, Z16YNG

Throttle Valve Potentiometer (Double Signal), Multec/Trionic (MY 2001, MY 2002 and MY 2003), Simtec (MY 2001 and MY 2002)

 

Objective:

Checking the electrical and mechanical functions of the throttle valve potentiometer.

Measurement:

Voltage plot of both signal outputs of the throttle valve potentiometer.

Preparation:

Switch off the engine and ignition.

Connections:

INPUT A

COM/TRIGGER

INPUT B

Connect the red measurement lead to pin D (Z16XEP: C) of the connection plug on the throttle valve potentiometer. Connect the black ground lead to ground.

 

Connect the grey measurement lead to pin A (Z16XEP: G) of the connection plug on the throttle valve potentiometer.


Procedure Tech 31:

1. Download the Reference curve.
2. Start the engine.
3. Depress the accelerator pedal quickly down to the limit stop and then release it again.

Procedure Tech 32:

1. Download Setup file (the Tech 32 uses only Setup files, no reference curves).
2. Start the engine and allow it to idle.
3. Depress the accelerator pedal quickly down to the limit stop and then release it again.
