Front Reaction Member, Remove and Install (Z 14 XEP) > < Remove and install engine (Z 12 XE, Z 12 XEP, Z 14 XEP, without air conditioning, MT)

J338010 remove and install reaction member (rear) (Z 14 XE, Z 16 YNG with AC, RHD)

1. Open bonnet

Important:   On vehicles as of model year 04 with ESP - the steering angle sensor loses its basic adjustment each time the battery is disconnected. It must be recalibrated.

2. Disconnect battery

  • Detach ground cable

3. Insert Engine Bridge MKM-883-1 (1)

  • Note: 2 people

4. Secure Engine Bridge MKM-883-1

  • Caution: Observe manufacturer's instructions

5. Attach engine

  • To engine support shackle (2/3)

6. Raise vehicle

Object Number: 2411347  Size: DEFAULT

7. Remove rear reaction member bracket

  • Remove 4 bolts (1)
  • Note: Note dissimilar bolt lengths

8. Attach rear reaction member bracket

  • Tighten bolts in transmission (80 Nm + 45° - 60°)
  • Tighten bolt (80 Nm / 59 lbf. ft.)

9. Lower vehicle

10. Release Engine Bridge MKM-883-1

11. Remove Engine Bridge MKM-883-1

  • Note: 2 people

12. Connect battery

13. Calibrate steering angle sensor

  • Switch on ignition

Note:   Rotate the steering wheel one time from its right-hand to its left-hand stop.

14. Program volatile memories

15. Close bonnet
