Meriva, Corsa-C "bad road package", Combo-C
When the Corsa-C was introduced in 2001, newly-developed special
tools for the front axle body, KM-6168
and KM-6169 , were supplied at order
class 2 conditions, among other things.
These special tools were developed to support the engine and the
transmission during removal and installation and precisely align
these assemblies in relation to the chassis to prevent vibration
and noise.
The shape of the front axle body had to be modified to improve
the crash behaviour of the vehicles and comply with the latest
crash standards.
As a result of these modifications, the existing special tools
for the front axle body cannot be used properly on certain Corsa-C
variants (Corsa-C with "bad road package", Combo-C as of MY 2005,5
and Meriva).
After weighing up various technical alternatives and the tool
costs it was finally decided to give priority to developing brand
new tools rather than retrofit kits and provide these at
preferential conditions to dealers that have already received
special tools KM-6168 and KM-6169 .
The two retrofit kits for the two Corsa-C tools that have
already been introduced are shown below.
