Steering Intermediate Shaft, Remove and Install > < Steering Column, Assemble and EPS Steering Column, Check

Lock Cylinder for Steering and Ignition Lock, Remove and Install

  Remove

1.   Unclip rosette, steering and ignition lock
2.   Remove steering column panelling LUREF_1.gif
Note:   For Tigra-B (model R97) .
3.   Detach windscreen wiper switch (1) from bracket LUREF_1.gif .
Note:   For Tigra-B (model R97) .
4.   Move ignition key in lock cylinder to "I" position
Note:   Unlock locked steering lock by turning steering wheel gently!
5.   Press down pawl with thin drift (arrow) and remove lock cylinder.

  Install

6.   Press steering locking pin (arrow) downwards until it engages.
Important:   Before sliding in the lock cylinder, ensure that the lock cylinder and the contact part are in the same switch position!
7.   Slide lock cylinder with key in position "I" into lock cylinder housing until pawl engages audibly.

8.   Attach windscreen wiper switch to bracket LUREF_1.gif
Note:   For Tigra-B (model R97) .
9.   Pull out ignition key.
10.   Attach steering column panelling LUREF_1.gif
Note:   For Tigra-B (model R97)
11.   Clip rosette for steering and ignition lock into the correct position
12.   Check function of steering and ignition lock.
