Cylinder Head, Remove and Install > < Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe, Replace

Detaching and attaching components, cylinder head

  Remove

1.   Remove intake manifold
•   Detach vent hose from cylinder head cover
•   Detach EGR pipe from exhaust gas recirculation valve
Unscrew 2x bolts (1)
Remove seal
•   Unscrew 5x bolt (2)
•   Remove 3x intake manifold seal
Object Number: 13408824  Size: DEFAULT


2.   Detach chain tensioner from cylinder head
•   Unscrew 2x bolts
3.   Detach oil pressure switch from cylinder head
4.   Detach EGR valve from cylinder head
Note:   Note seal
•   Unscrew 4x bolts
5.   Remove spark plugs with KM-194-E
6.   Remove exhaust camshaft
Note:   When releasing the camshaft bearing caps, ensure that the camshaft is seated evenly on the bearing seats
•   Slacken camshaft bearing caps in stages 1/2 to 1 turn
•   Unscrew 8x bolts
•   Take out camshaft bearing caps
Note:   Note marking before dismantling camshaft bearing cap
Set aside in the correct order
•   Remove exhaust camshaft
7.   Remove intake camshaft
Note:   When releasing the camshaft bearing caps, ensure that the camshaft is seated evenly on the bearing seats
•   Slacken camshaft bearing caps in stages 1/2 to 1 turn
•   Unscrew 8x bolts
•   Take out camshaft bearing caps
Note:   Note marking before dismantling camshaft bearing cap
Set aside in the correct order
•   Remove intake camshaft

8.   Take roller cam followers and hydraulic valve lifters out of cylinder head
•   Set roller cam followers and hydraulic valve lifters aside in order
Pay attention to assignment

  Install

9.   Clean all removed parts
10.   Insert hydraulic valve lifters and roller cam followers in cylinder head
•   Coat sliding surfaces of the hydraulic valve lifers and roller cam followers with clean engine oil
•   Pay attention to assignment
11.   Coat camshaft bearing with MoS 2 sliding paste (grey)
12.   Install intake camshaft
•   Coat sliding surfaces with MoS2 lubricating paste
•   Insert intake camshaft
Note:   Insert camshaft in such a way that the cams of cylinder 1 are set at "TDC of combustion stroke" (cams point outwards)
Important:   Note mark and allocation
•   Insert camshaft bearing caps
•   Install camshaft bearing cover
Note:   Tighten camshaft bearing caps in stages, working in a spiral from inside to outside
Tighten 8x bolt 8 Nm
13.   Install exhaust camshaft
•   Coat sliding surfaces with MoS2 lubricating paste
•   Insert exhaust camshaft
Note:   Insert camshaft in such a way that the cams of cylinder 1 are set at "TDC of combustion stroke" (cams point outwards)
Important:   Note mark and allocation
•   Insert camshaft bearing caps
•   Install camshaft bearing cover
Note:   Tighten camshaft bearing caps in stages, working in a spiral from inside to outside
Tighten 8x bolt 8 Nm
14.   Install spark plugs in cylinder head using KM-194-E 25 Nm
15.   Attach EGR valve to cylinder head
•   Use new seal
•   Tighten 4x bolt 8 Nm
16.   Attach oil pressure switch to cylinder head 20 Nm
•   Use new seal ring
17.   Attach chain tensioner to cylinder head
•   Tighten 2x bolt 8 Nm
18.   Attach intake manifold to cylinder head
•   Insert 4x new seal rings
•   Tighten 6x bolt 10 Nm
•   Attach EGR pipe to EGR valve
Note:   Use new seal
Tighten 2x bolt 8 Nm

Cylinder Head, Remove and Install > < Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe, Replace
