Replace engine damping blocks

Note:   When removing or replacing the right and left engine damping block or their fixings, the engine must be secured against lowering


The rear engine damping block can also be removed and installed without supporting the engine

1.   Attach engine to corresponding engine transport shackle on engine hoist (1)
Note:   The diagram shows removal of the right engine damping block

Left engine damping block to side member

  • Remove battery support.
  • Remove fuse box
  • Hitch engine up to engine crane.

2 bolts

80 Nm

Left engine damping block to left engine damping block bracket

 

3x new bolts

80 Nm + 45°

Left engine damping block support to transmission

  • Remove left engine damping block

3x new bolts to transmission

M12: 80 Nm + 30° M10: 60 Nm + 30°

Right engine damping block to right engine damping block bracket

  • Remove air cleaner housing LUREF_1.gif
  • Hitch engine up to engine crane.

2x new bolts

80 Nm + 45°

Right engine damping block to right side member

  • Remove air cleaner housing LUREF_1.gif
  • Hitch engine up to engine crane.

3x bolts

60 Nm

 

 

Right engine damping block bracket to cylinder head and cylinder block

  • Remove air cleaner housing LUREF_1.gif
  • Hitch engine up to engine crane.
  • Remove engine damping block, right hand side

3x bolts

60 Nm
