Injectors, Remove and Install

Caution
Ensure utmost cleanliness.
Fuel escapes. Observe safety regulations and national
regulations. Depressurise fuel using Fuel Pressure Gauge
KM-J-34730-91 via test connection (3) – collect escaping fuel
in suitable container.
 Remove
Remove vacuum hose (2) from intake manifold, vacuum hose (4)
from fuel pressure regulator. Detach fuel return line (5) and fuel
feed line (1) from fuel distributor pipe – note seal
rings.
Detach wiring harness plug from injectors. Detach ground cable
from fastening pin (7).
Remove fastening pin (6) and (7) from fuel distributor tube.

Remove fuel distributor pipe (1) with injectors from intake
manifold.
Remove spring clip (2) from injector. Remove relevant injector
from fuel distributor tube.
Install
Insert injector in fuel distributor pipe and fasten with spring
clip.
Insert fuel distributor tube in intake manifold – 8 Nm / 6
lbf. ft.
Connect wiring harness plug to injection valves.

Install
Attach ground cable to fastening pin – tightening torque
4.4 Nm / 3.3 lbf. ft.
Fasten vacuum hose to intake manifold.
Fasten vacuum hose to fuel pressure regulator.
Attach spring to Bowden cable bracket and attach Bowden cable
bracket to intake manifold – tightening torque 8 Nm / 6 lbf.
ft. If present – attach Bowden cable for cruise control.
Attach accelerator Bowden cable to throttle body.
Attach fuel return line and fuel supply line with new seal rings
to fuel distributor pipe – tightening torque 22.5 Nm / 16.6
lbf. ft.
