Pressure Plate and Clutch Disc, Remove and Install (Flat Flywheel)

  Remove

Remove transmission – see operation "Manual Transmission, Remove and Install".

Attach KM-632-A (1) to engine block (use fastening bolts M12 x 30 mm).

Compress clutch pressure plate with KM-632-A and fit KM-526-A (2 and 3).

Remove pressure fixture from KM-632-A.

Lock flywheel with KM-652 (4).

Detach fastening bolts (arrows) for pressure plate.

Remove pressure plate and clutch disc.

  Inspect

Check pressure plate and clutch plate for wear, replace if necessary.

Check needle bearing in crankshaft, if necessary remove with KM-556-1 (1) and KM-691 (2) or KM-328-B.

  Install

Press in new needle bearing with KM-235-D to the stop.

Note:   If the pressure plate is replaced, attach KM-526-A to new pressure plate.

  Install

Compress spring tangs of pressure plate under a press until KM-526-A can be inserted.

Object Number: 2377427  Size: DEFAULT


Note:   When installing the clutch disc, ensure that the lettering "Getriebeseite/transmission side" is facing the transmission.

  Install

Centre clutch disc using KM-237.

Attach pressure plate to flat flywheel.

Tightening torque:

Fastening bolt M7

15 Nm / 11 lbf. ft.

Fastening bolt M8

28 Nm / 21 lbf. ft.

  Remove

Remove KM-237 (1) from clutch plate.

Object Number: 2389160  Size: DEFAULT


Compress pressure plate with KM-623-A until KM-526-A can be removed

  Install

Install transmission – see operation "Manual Transmission, Remove and Install".
