Power Assisted Steering Pump, Remove and Install (Vehicles with V6 Engine) > < Oil Pressure, Check

Power Assisted Steering Pump, Remove and Install (Vehicles with 4 Cylinder Petrol Engine).

  Remove

Release and remove ribbed V-belt – mark running direction – see operation "Ribbed V-belt, Remove and Install" in group "J".

Disconnect pressure line (1) and intake line (2) from power assisted steering pump.

Caution

Fluid escapes, collect and close off openings.

  Remove

Remove fastening screws (1, 3, 4), remove fastening screw (2) and swivel retaining strap upwards. Remove power assisted steering pump from above.

  Install

Install power assisted steering pump with fastening screws (3) and (4) onto auxiliary aggregates holders (3, 4) – tightening torque 25 Nm / 18.5 lbf. ft.

Fit retaining strap with fastening screw (6) onto power assisted steering pump and cylinder block – tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft. Connect pressure line (5) to power assisted steering pump – tightening torque 28 Nm / 21 lbf. ft.

Fit ribbed V-belt and tension – see operation "Ribbed V-belt, Remove and Install" in group "J". Connect suction line with new hose clamp (7) to power assisted steering pump.

Charge and bleed hydraulic system – see operation "Hydraulic System, Charge and Bleed".
