Step 5 - PVC Underseal  

PVC underseal is applied on top of the dried cataphoretic electro-dip priming.  

Underbody areas exposed to the risk of stone impact damage are specifically coated with PVC underseal.  

This treatment provides long-term protection against mechanical strain (e.g. stone impact) and corrosion.  

PVC underseal is mainly applied in a fully automatic process with handling robots.   The remaining surfaces and flanges are sealed manually with PVC or combination materials.   Final hardening takes place with drying of the filler primer.
