Brake Shoes > < Brake Backing Plate - Rear Wheel Brake, Remove and Install (Vehicles with Disc Brake)

 

Brake Anchor Plate, Remove and Install (Vehicles with Drum Brake)  

Object Number: 616191  Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

Correct brake fluid level up to "MAX" marking and seal with Dummy Screw Cap MKM-558-10.  

Disconnect rear wheel. Remove brake shoes - see operation "Brake Shoes, Drum Brake, Remove and Install".  

Disconnect locking plate (1) for parking brake cable and pull parking brake cable from brake anchor plate. Disconnect brake line from wheel brake cylinder - collect escaping brake fluid and seal fluid apertures.  

Unscrew wheel bearing unit - see operation "Wheel Bearing Unit, Remove and Install" in group "F". Remove brake anchor plate.  

Unscrew bolt (2) and remove wheel brake cylinder from brake anchor plate.

Object Number: 616192  Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Attach wheel brake cylinder to brake anchor plate. Attach brake anchor plate with wheel bearing unit - see operation "Wheel Bearing Unit, Remove and Install" in group "F". Attach brake line to wheel brake cylinder. Fit parking brake cable with new locking plate to brake anchor plate. Install brake shoes - see operation "Brake Shoes for Drum Brake, Remove and Install".  

Object Number: 616199  Size: DEFAULT  Tighten (Torque)   

Wheel brake cylinder to brake anchor plate - 9 Nm / 7 lbf. ft.  

Brake line to wheel brake cylinder - 16 Nm / 12 lbf. ft.  

Wheel to wheel hub - 110 Nm / 81 lbf. ft.  

Object Number: 616196  Size: DEFAULT  Inspect   

Remove dummy screw cap from brake fluid reservoir.  

Bleed brake system bleed and check for leaks - see operation "Brake System, Bleed and Check for Leaks".
