Brake Linings, Remove and Install
Important! All brake linings and expanding springs on to axle must be replaced.
Remove, Disconnect Disconnect rear wheels. Knock out brake lining retaining pins from outside in from brake calliper. Beware of released expanding spring (1). Press apart brake linings with piston pusher.
Important! Brake fluid level increases in brake fluid reservoir. If necessary, drain brake fluid.
Remove, Disconnect Remove brake linings from brake calliper shaft. |

Measure Check brake linings and brake discs for wear - see operation "Brake Linings and Brake Discs, Check for Wear".
Important! If a defect or leak is ascertained on the protective sleeves for the pistons, they are to be replaced - see operation "Brake Calliper - Rear Wheel Brake, Overhaul".
Inspect Check piston position with piston adjusting gauge. If piston position is incorrect, correct piston position with piston turning pliers (1). With the raised side of the piston thrust surface, the pistons must press against the brake lining retaining plate. |

Clean Clean brake calliper channel with soft metal brush.
Install, Connect Insert brake linings into brake caliper. Check ease of movement of brake lining in the guide, thinly coat the guide and brake lining rear sides with anti-squeak paste. Insert new expanding spring (1) and press retaining pins (2) into brake caliper.
Adjust Adjust operating clearance by actuating brake pedal several times. Correct brake fluid level if necessary.
Install, Connect Attach rear wheels.
Tighten (Torque) Wheel to wheel hub - 110 Nm / 81 lbf. ft. |
