Troublecode:

0335, 0340

 

Complaint:

Poor Engine Driveability, Failure Code Setting by Control Unit Delayed engine start or jerking and power loss during engine running. TC P0335 and P0340 is set.

 

Cause:

Due to backturning of engine during starting the trouble code P0335 and P0340 is stored.

Remedy:

 

Special:

No

 

Working operation:

 

1.    Check the valve timing adjustment and toothed belt tension, if necessary correct it.

2.    Check the connection lead (plug) of the engine speed sensor.

3.    Check the gap between sensor and increment disc: allowed is max. 1,5 mm.

4.    Replace engine speed sensor.

5.    Replace Simtec wiring harness.

 

The steps 4 and 5 are only useful if the failure is sporadic when the engine is running, that means not during the starting procedure.

There will be a new calibration available on CD 36 (October).

Identification: 56SB00.

This calibration prevents the Trouble Code by backturning of engine during start up.
