Complaint:

Poor Engine Driveability, Failure Code Setting by Control Unit

Engine telltale comes on. TC P0100 is set at idle and load condition.

Cause:

a)    Leak air in the intake area. If the 02-idling characteristic is over 136 steps then the cause is possibly leak air.

b)    Incorrect calibration of the fuel injection ECU software.

c)    Poor connection terminals connection to the airflow meter.

Production Solution:

Special part:

S-10395

Remedy:

a)    Eliminate leakage in the intake area.

b)    Re-programme the fuel injection ECU with latest software as of CD 36.

c)    Ensure that the terminals to the airflow meter are in good condition.

If not:

1)    Replace plug contacts in the plug connector (contacts are a special part-set, order from TIC).

2)    Fit the new plug contacts properly on the four leads.

3)    Connect the plug connector with the airflow meter and secure it with two crossed cable strips to ensure that there is no movement possible.

Ensure that the insulation of the hood doesn't press down on the plugs.

Note:

In a number of cases the airflow meter is being replaced and on inspection, by the component manufacture, the units are found not to be defective. If a airflow meter is found not to be defective, when inspected then the unit may be returned and the warrenty claim denied.
