Oil Pan, Remove and Install (16 LZ2)  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove front exhaust pipe (1) - see operation "Exhaust Manifold, Remove and Install".   If present: detach wiring harness plug from dynamic oil level control sensor.   Remove oil drain plug (3) - collect escaping engine oil.   Remove flywheel cover plate and lower wheel well panel.   Detach oil pan (2) from cylinder block and from oil pump.   Remove oil intake pipe (4) from oil pump and from cylinder block - remove oil baffle plate.     Clean    Remove gasket remnants and clean sealing surfaces.

  Install, Connect   

Apply a bead of adhesive sealing compound (black) to joints (arrows) of oil pump and rear crankshaft bearing cap.   Position new oil baffle plate. Attach oil intake pipe with new seal ring to oil pump - tightening torque 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.   Attach oil intake pipe bracket to cylinder block - tightening torque 6 Nm / 4 lbf. ft.   Attach oil pan to cylinder block and oil pump - tightening torque 12 Nm / 9 lbf. ft.   Attach oil drain bolt to oil pan with new seal ring - tightening torque 55 Nm / 40.6 lbf. ft.   If present: connect wiring harness plug for dynamic oil level control sensor.   Install lower wheel well panelling and flywheel cover plate.   Install front exhaust pipe - see operation "Exhaust Manifold, Remove and Install".   Fill engine oil up to "MAX" at dipstick.
