Kickdown Switch, Remove and Install  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove retaining rubber (2) with accelerator actuation Bowden cable from counterbracket.   Remove retaining clamp (1) from ball head (3). Using screwdriver carefully lever off ball head from accelerator actuation -. separate wiring harness plug (4) for kickdown switch (located behind the brake servo).   Remove footwell panelling on the driver's side (3 clamps). Remove air flow guide (1 bolt). Press locating rubber with spring out of bore hole in accelerator (5), detaching accelerator actuation Bowden cable.   Pull accelerator control cable with kickdown switch towards engine from bulkhead - note routing. Kickdown switch may only be replaced in assembly with accelerator control cable.

  Install, Connect   

Insert accelerator control cable with kickdown switch in bulkhead - ensure correct routing.   Attach accelerator actuation Bowden cable at pedal - locating rubber with spring on bore hole in accelerator. Install air flow guide (1 bolt) and footwell panelling (3 clamps).   Connect wiring harness plug for kickdown switch and route behind brake servo (cable clip). Ball head to accelerator actuation (ball socket on ball pivot) - attach retaining clip.   Attach retaining rubber with accelerator actuation Bowden cable to counterbracket and retaining clamp - the accelerator actuation Bowden cable should lie loosely, but free of play.     Inspect    Kickdown must be noticeable when the accelerator pedal is fully depressed.
