Secondary Air Metal Pipe, Remove and Install (X 16 XEL)  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove secondary air combination valve - see operation "Secondary Air Combination Valve, Remove and Install (X 16 XEL)".   Remove fastening bolts for metal pipe support (2) from metal pipe bracket and exhaust manifold. Remove heat shield fastening bolts (1) from exhaust manifold and remove heat shield.     Clean    Remove gasket remnants, clean sealing surfaces.     Remove, Disconnect    Remove fastening bolts (3) from exhaust manifold and remove secondary air metal pipe.

  Install, Connect   

Insert secondary air metal pipe with new gasket and insert fastening bolts (1) and (2) into exhaust manifold with assembly paste.     Tighten (Torque)    Fastening bolt M6 to exhaust manifold - 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.   Fastening bolt M8 to exhaust manifold - 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft.     Install, Connect    Install heat shield and metal pipe support.   Install secondary air combination valve - see operation "Combination Valve, Secondary Air, Remove and Install (X 16 XEL)".     Tighten (Torque)    Heat shield fastening bolts and metal pipe support - 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.
