Check wiring connections for Data Link Connector (DLC), as well as voltage supply and Ground (GND) connections.

After repairs press buttons -4- and -6- to input "Comfort System" address word 46.

The central control module identification for comfort system -J393- (Conv. cent. 07) is indicated on the VAG 1551 scan tool display.

A list of possible functions is printed out after pressing the "HELP" button.

Do not select further functions, which can be printed out after pressing the "HELP" button.

After the function is completed the VAG 1551 returns to the start position.

With Manufacturer Scan Tool

Check DTC Memory (Function 02)

NOTE:  The VAG 1552 Mobile Scan Tool (ST) can be used instead of the VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST), however a print-out is not possible.

Connect VAG 1551 scan tool. Refer to "Selectable Functions When Using VAG 1551", under "Restraint Systems", See: Scan Tool Testing and
Procedures/Scan Tool Connecting and Initial Checks

Initiate On Board Diagnostic (OBD). See: Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview/On Board Diagnostic (OBD), Initiating Program 

-

Switch printer on with "PRINT" button (warning lamp in button lights up).

-

Press buttons -0- and -2- to select "Check DTC Memory" function 02.

Press "PRINT" button.

Press -Q- button to confirm input.

Indicated on display (number of stored DTCs)

X DTC recognized

->

The stored DTCs are displayed and printed out one after the other.
