Plenum Panel Covers and Flower Vase Mounting Base, Replacing (BV)
Condition
Under hot weather conditions the dashboard plenum panel cover material could loosen and "bubble" due to softening of the adhesive. Under the same
conditions the flower vase mounting base could "warp." These problems could occur on vehicles within VIN range 3VW__1C_WM0000O01 - 3VW__
1C_WM021074, as reflected in the V-crest inquiry system by code BV.
Service
Replace the left and right side plenum panel covers and the flower vase mounting base. Correct vehicles in inventory prior to their retail sale: and correct
already sold vehicles during the customer's next visit for maintenance or repair work as follows:

Remove center plenum panel cover 1- by sliding forward, then lifting up

Remove three torx screw -2- and washers
STEERING WHEEL NOT SHOWN FOR CLARIFICATION PURPOSE.
IN COLD CLIMATES, LET INSIDE OF VEHICLE WARM UP PRIOR TO PERFORMING THIS WORK.

Remove the right plenum cover -4- by lifting from left edge (arrow A) and unsnapping from clips, then pulling toward center of vehicle (arrow
-B-) and out of retainer in A-pillar
CAUTION: Plenum covers should be removed slowly to provent damaging adjoining parts, specifically, the front cover to which the VIN
plate is mounted

Remove the left plenum cover -3- by lifting from right edge (arrow A) and unsnapping from clips, then pulling toward center of vehicle (arrow
-B-) and out of retainer in A-pillar

NOTE: Prior to installation of new plenum covers, check slots in dashboard for old retaining clips and remove.

Install new left plenum cover 1C0 819 401 A 2AQ, by inserting it into A-pillar then pushing downward until clips snap into position.

Install new right plenum cover, 1C0 819 402 A 2AQ, by inserting it into A-pillar then pushing downward until clips snap into position.
