When all the above components are removed:
^
Carefully slide headliner forward to release catch at rear edge of sunroof.
^
Carefully pull down on headliner enough to insert foam spacer Part No: 1J0 867 596C between headliner and sunroof frame at each rear corner
of sunroof (at arrow).
Tip:
Adhesive side of foam spacer must be placed on sunroof frame.

Reinstall headliner, moldings, grab handles, light, sunvisors and sunvisor clips in reverse order of removal.
^
Continue to sliding headliner, replacing slides.
If foam spacers are installed:

Continue to sliding headliner, replacing slides
Sliding headliner, replacing slides
^
Install 4 new slides Part No: 8D5 877 165A item 4 (always use new screws included with slide) as outlined
Sliding headliner, removing and installing front slides
^
Sunroof glass removed (see Repair Manual Group 60).
^
Slide headliner to rear.
^
Remove forward screw arrow on left/ right sides. Pull slide forward over stop 1.
Note:
Always remove any debris left by broken slides.
Failure to do so will cause further damage to new slides and / or sunroof.
^
Install in reverse order of removal.
Ensure slide is square to sliding headliner and guide rail.
Torque = 3.5 Nm (31 in. lb)

Sunroof glass removed (see Repair Manual Group 60).
