Shift Interlock Cable: Service and Repair

Removing: 

CAUTION! 
^

Before working on the electrical system, obtain radio security code and disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.

^

When reconnecting battery, always check operation of vehicle equipment.

Remove steering wheel, handle for steering height and reach adjustment and cover for ignition/starter lock.

^

Turn ignition ON.

^

Move selector lever to " P".

^

Remove clip -2- for locking cable -3-.

^

Pull locking cable out of steering lock -1-.

^

Push down sleeve on selector lever handle.

^

While depressing knob, remove selector lever handle by pulling upward.

^

Remove center console and arm rest if installed.

^

Remove switch bracket.

^

Disconnect locking cable from locking lever at selector mechanism.
