Customer States MIL ON, DTC 00281 Road Speed Sender -G68- Stored in TCM DTC Memory
The Malfunction Indicator Light is illuminated and DTC 00281 Road Speed Sender -G68- is stored in Transmission Control Module (TCM) DTC
memory. No obvious fault has been found with Road Speed Sender -G68-.
Tip: The Road Speed Sender -G68- will not effect the vehicle speedometer or cruise control operations.
Tip: If DTC 00297 Gearbox Speed Sender -G38- is stored in TCM memory, also install -G38- overlay harness as outlined in Technical Bulletin instance

Install -G68- overlay harness Part No: 1C0971661A as follows:
Engine compartment harness covers, removing

Obtain radio code and preset radio stations.

Disconnect battery ground (GND) strap.

Remove battery and battery tray (see Repair Manual Group 27).

Remove air cleaner housing (see Repair Manual Group 24).

Remove engine wiring harness covers.
Road Speed Sender -G68-, replacing and removing existing connector

Locate Road Speed Sender -G68- and replace.

Cut connector and wires from main harness (near taped section of harness).
