Removing and installing sealing flange and pressure plate
Renewing crankshaft oil seal -pulley end-

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items

  • ◆ Counter-hold tool 3099.
  • ◆ Oil seal extractor 2085.
  • ◆ Oil seal fitting tool 3083.

Removing

  • ‒ Remove toothed belt .
  • ‒ Remove crankshaft sprocket. To do this counter-hold sprocket with 3099.
  • ‒ Unscrew the inner part of the oil seal extractor 2085 two turns (approx. 3 mm) out of the outer part and lock with knurled screw.
 
N13-0035
  • ‒ → To guide the oil seal extractor, screw bolt from 3083 into crankshaft as far as it will go.
 
V13-1268
  • ‒ → Lubricate threated head of oil seal extractor, place it in position and exerting firm pressure screw it as far as possible into oil seal.
  • ‒ Loosen knurled screw and turn inner part against crankshaft until the oil seal is pulled out.

Installing

 
N13-0033
  • ‒ Lightly oil sealing lip of oil seal.
  • ‒ → Place guide sleeve from 3083 onto crankshaft journal.
 
N13-0034
  • ‒ Slide oil seal over guide sleeve.
  • ‒ → Press oil seal in onto stop with press sleeve from 3083.
  • ‒ Install and tension toothed belt => Page 13-9.
