The system can only be refilled in a specially equipped workshop. It should, therefore, only be opened and evacuated when the safety precautions =>page 87-1 , point 3), make this essential.

  • ‒ → Screw caps -K- off valves. Open valves with a tyre valve key -V- until gas can just be heard escaping and felt with the finger.

Note:

The evacuating process should take about half an hour. Never screw the valve right out.

  • ‒ Close valve again and fit caps -K-.
  • ‒ Let remaining gas escape from system by briefly opening the threaded connection on the condenser.
  • ‒ Tighten threaded connection again carefully.
Caution:
A system which has been left open for several hours cannot be charged again without replacing certain parts of the system. For this reason, the refrigerant circuit should be closed immediately, using great care.
  • ‒ Remove compressor drive belt otherwise the compressor will be damaged if the air conditioner is switched on accidentally.
