This is necessary if too much or too little force is required to overcome the 5th gear catch.

Basic setting

• ‒ Place gearbox in neutral.
• ‒ Take cap of retaining screw.
• ‒ → Loosen locknut -2- and turn retaining screw -1- in until the pin -3- just starts to lift.
• ‒ Turn retaining screw back 1/3 of a turn.
• ‒ Lock retaining screw.

Check:

The force required to overcome the 5th gear catch is measured with a spring gauge.

• ● At lever for selector shaft on gearbox specified: 100 N (10 kg).
• ● At gear lever in vehicle min. 40 N (4 kg).

Measured below gear lever knob.

Individual setting:

(To suit the driver)

By lifting the cap and turning adjusting screw 60° in each case the force to overcome the 5th gear catch can be altered.
