Renewing valve guides

‒ Clean and inspect cylinder head. Cylinder heads, in which the valve seat inserts can no longer be reworked, or cylinder heads which have already been machined to the minimum dimension, are not suitable for renewal of valve guides.

‒ Press out worn valve guides from the camshaft end with 10-206 (valve guides with shoulder - service version - from combustion chamber side).

‒ Coat new guides with oil and press into the cold cylinder head as far as shoulder from camshaft side with 10-206.
Note:
Once guide has been pressed in as far shoulder, the pressing-in force must not be increased to in excess of 1.0 t as otherwise shoulder may break off.

‒ Ream out valve guide with hand reamer 10-215.
Use plenty of cutting fluid.
