Remove 0.3 bar oil pressure switch (brown insulation) and screw into tester.
-
‒ Screw tester into cylinder head in place of the oil pressure switch.
-
‒ Connect the brown wire from the tester to earth (-).
-
‒ Conect LED Test Lamp V.A.G 1527, with auxiliary wires from V.A.G 1594 to the positive pole (+) of the battery and 0.3 bar oil pressure switch (in tester) -A-. The LED should light up.
-
‒ Start engine and gradually increase rpm.
At a pressure of 0.15...0.45 bar the LED must go out, otherwise replace oil pressure switch
-
‒ Connect the LED Test Lamp With 1.8 bar oil pressure switch (white insulation, on oil filter bracket) -B-
The LED must light up at a pressure of 1.6...2.0 bar, otherwise renew oil pressure switch.
-
‒ Increase engine rpm further.
At 2000 rpm and 80 °C oil temperature the oil pressure should be at least 2.0 bar.
-
‒ At higher rpm the oil pump cover with pressure must not exceed 7.0 bar.
If necessary, renew oil pump cover with pressure relief valve.
